2012 Black Tie & Tails Ball Carnivale a huge success!
The fifth annual Black Tie & Tails Ball held at the Washington Duke Inn on February 25th was a resounding success, raising just under $64,000 for the wild cats! This year’s theme was South American Carnivale, with the native ocelot as the featured wild cat. WRAL's Capitol Bureau Chief, Laura Leslie, acted as emcee for the event.
Guests enjoyed butlered hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, games, fortune-teller Madame Bella Rosa, and performances by roving magician Joshua Lozoff during the silent auction. Guests dined on seared beef tenderloin, panned seared halibut, or mixed vegetable strudel. The live auction included a Styx fan dream package- including a guitar signed by all members and former members and a concert with a photo opportunity with the band, travel packages- including a one week stay in St. Martin, special experiences at Carolina Tiger, and more. The annual Fund-A-Cause raised over $13,000 to provide food for our animals, filling a gap caused by the loss of our primary food source.
Planning is already underway for the next Black Tie & Tails Ball for Saturday, February 23, 2013.
