The Carolina Tiger Rescue Team (Dan, Kathryn, Dr. Lassiter, Dr.Mothershead, and Lauren) are currently traveling from Collins, MS. They spent the day loading two black leopards and a cougar intended to bring them home to Karen's Keep Quarantine at Carolina Tiger. They also assisted in loading a tiger that will be going to the Black Beauty Ranch in TX This rescue is part of a government seizure at the Collins Zoo in Collins, MS, resulting from an undercover investigation done by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). The HSUS had a representative volunteer at the zoo from October 2009 - December 2009. The HSUS filed a complaint against the zoo in March 2010, which eventually resulted in the January 2012 seizure. More on the HSUS investigation ... Thanks to support from national organizations for this rescue, Carolina Tiger is asking that those who would like to contribute to the care of our newest arrivals consider a contribution to the Food Campaign.
Due to this being a government seizure, details about the animals (names, ages, condition) have been limited , but we will keep you posted! Resources
